Grounded in Integrity, Lighting up the Future!

About

Welcome to JH Electric! Jack always knew he wanted to own his own business and give back to the community of Maine he grew up in. After completing his schooling through SMCC while working full-time, he started thinking about a business. With a little help from his friends, JH Electric was born. JH Electric is committed to serving the people of the greater Portland area and offering efficient, friendly, and trustworthy services. JH Electric takes pride in the quality of our work and the satisfaction of our customers. Jack currently holds a Journeyman license, and a Limited Residential license and is fully insured. He can work and pull permits in single and double-family homes (with no restrictions). Jack is also working toward his master's License, allowing him to expand to commercial work. We are excited to work with you!

The Logo

  1. The electric eel logo is in the shape of a sine wave; like alternating current.

  2. Electric eels have been found to produce up to 860 Volts! A significantly higher voltage than a 120V/240V household.

  3. Studies of electric eels influenced the creation of what is considered the first battery!

  4. Electric eels can actually shock themselves if an injury causes damage to their insulated bodies—much like old wiring can be dangerous!

  5. Electric eels use electricity to hunt and stun their prey as well as for navigation using low-voltage pulses. They have developed a reliance on electricity much like we have, as we move towards a more efficient and electric future.

Meet jack!

Hi there, I’m Jack, the founder and owner of JH Electric. I grew up in Brunswick, Maine, and now live and operate my business in Portland. I attended a four-year college in upstate New York. After graduating I received a Fulbright scholarship and planned to travel abroad. My plans were thrown off the rails after the global pandemic and it was back to the drawing board. After much deliberation, I knew I wanted to work in a hands-on field and discovered the electrical trade. I received my certificate through SMCC while working full-time at a commercial electrical company where I am currently working on my Master’s license. I am passionate about my work and helping my customers and the community I grew up in. When I’m not working I enjoy being outdoors, reading, and spending time with family and friends!
